Using the Version Protection Feature

Follow these steps to recover an earlier version of a Microsoft Office file:

  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Navigate to the Microsoft Office file for which you want to recover previous versions.
  3. Right-click the file. You will see a menu similar to this:

  1. Select View Versions and a listing of the earlier versions of the file is displayed similar to this:

  1. Select a file and right-click it to see a menu of the options available:

  1. From the menu displayed, you can choose from these options:
  1. Recover the selected version of the file (and save it to the location of your choice)
  2. Delete that version of the file
  3. Open that version of the file with the default application for that file type
  4. Open the file with the application of your choice

Tip: You can also access earlier versions of Microsoft Office files by right-clicking on them in the Undelete Recovery Bin.
